Social Confidence Group for Girls
(school age-preteen)
Our Social Confidence Group is a supportive, skills-based therapy group designed for school age to preteen girls who may struggle with friendships, shyness, anxiety in social situations, or navigating peer dynamics. This group provides a safe and structured space where girls can build confidence, strengthen communication skills, and practice healthy friendship behaviors with guidance and support.
Group will be weekly (8 sessions) and in person after school at our Skaneateles and Manlius offices. Enrollment is currently open for our next group, which is scheduled to start the second week in March 2026.
What We Focus On:
Building self-confidence and positive self-talk
Starting and maintaining conversations
Joining in and navigating group dynamics
Managing big feelings (frustration, embarrassment, jealousy)
Handling conflict and using respectful communication
Understanding healthy friendships and boundaries
Developing problem-solving and coping skills
Sessions are interactive and engaging, incorporating games, role-plays, creative activities, and guided discussion to help girls practice new skills in real time. The group environment allows participants to learn from one another while building meaningful peer connections.
Who Might Benefit:
Girls who are shy or socially anxious
Girls who struggle with friendship conflicts
Girls who have difficulty reading social cues
Girls who experience low self-confidence in peer settings

Our goal is to help each participant leave the group feeling more confident, capable, and equipped with practical tools they can use at school, at home, and in their friendships.
